Student Design Competion 07

22 Nov 2006

British Glove Association (BGA) member, Dents, has announced that it will donate a new top prize to the Association's 2007 Glove Design Competition for the most commercial glove design produced from all the entries.

The prize will be named The Dents Prize and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of £500 plus work experience at Dents.

The Award for the most commercial glove design will be selected from all the entries submitted to the BGA Glove Design Competition; all entries to the competition will automatically be considered for the prize, and the winner will not necessarily be a winner or runner-up in any of the individual categories.

Editor's Note:

About the Glove Design Competition
The BGA student glove design competition has now been running since 1975 and is organised by the British Glove Association in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Glovers. Its purpose is to encourage students to create practical yet original glove designs. The judges also look for designs that show a commercial aspect in respect of areas such as ease of manufacture and ability to sell. The panel of judges come from all areas of the gloving industry, including manufacturers, designers, tanneries, importers and department store buyers.

About Dents
Dents has been crafting and creating the world's finest gloves and accessories for over two centuries. The company was founded in 1777 in Worcester where, in an old timber house, John Dent cut his first pair of gloves to sell under his company's name. For further information go to: www.dents.co.uk

The British Glove Association (BGA) was formed in 1998 to represent every area of the glove industry as a single voice.

The aim of the Association is to be the principal representative for every business within the glove trade with government departments, national and international organisations and representatives of related trades.
